Wool Roving
We shear all our ewes in the spring
before lambing and our rams ( and some of the ewes again) in the fall before breeding. Shearing at these
times gives us the highest quality fleeces we can get. Then our wool is
graded and processed in small
batches to again ensure maximum quality. The very best of our wool is then used
to make our roving. Roving is traditionally the last step in processing
before wool is spun into yarn. You will find our roving a dream to spin,
others find it perfect for weaving. We also use it a
lot in making wool
sculptures. If the wool
